Aeschylus I Review

Aeschylus I: Oresteia (Agamemnon, The Libation Bearers, The Eumenides)Aeschylus I: Oresteia by Aeschylus
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I read this with a reading group formed by the Catherine Project the brainchild of Zena Hitz, author of Lost in Thought. I'm probably the oldest in the group and have thoroughly enjoyed reading and discussing these plays with this group. As far as the text, it is a classic for a reason. We discussed various topics including justice, motivations for justice, hatred, revenge, vengeance, etc.

Classical Homeschoolers - ahead of their time?

"When the market turns, the crash will be painful, but there will be new opportunities for low-cost schools, including small, Great Books–style schools. Teachers will get back to teaching . . . oh, well, now I’m moving into hopes rather than conviction. But, in summary, prices will not go up forever"

Shakespeare in the Park

Every summer for one month an area of the park is tranformed into an outdoor amphitheater for St. Louis Shakespeare in the Park's production. This year's production was The Merry Wives of Windsor. Sorry no photos of the production due to copyright laws but I did get some photos of the park, which due to the cooler spring temps and abundant rainfall is beautiful this year. Some of you have seen these photos on Facebook, but I'm posting them here in a larger format. Click on each photo to see a larger version. Enjoy!!!
