How can it be that you are you?
He thought you up and so you grew.
Because you're mine, it must be true
That He was also thinking of me too.
For all you are, and all you'll be,
For everything you mean to me,
Though I don't understand,
I know you're from the Father's hand.
Skipping ahead a few years, one of the songs I appreciated was from one of two lullaby albums that Michael has produced. This album was a life saver when I would take car trips to see family after my daughters were born. This soothed them, and me, enough to make the trips enjoyable. One song in particular "All You Are" is his adaptation of a poem by George MacDonald and it is beautifully done, as is the entire album."All You Are" gently reminds us that we are created and placed in families.
Edit: A good friend mentioned elsewhere that she gives this as baby gifts. Excellent idea!
