Time...it doesn't stop

Time....it doesn't stop. A year ago during the Advent season, my girls were watching Julia and Julie, ordering Julia Child cookbooks. The older preparing for her wedding in June and the younger trying out delicious recipes.

This year, we were guests in the home of  the older daughter and our new son. Time did not stand still....God  in his life giving character birthed a new family, a new home and for a moment pulled back the veil between heaven and earth to show us what this, this life that He has blessed us with, with it's struggles, tears that come with delivering a child, yes even a grown-up child, gifts us. Daughters who love the ordinary, the service. As we sat down to break bread, to feast on  a classic Julia recipe, the holy was revealed....hands that tended the meal, that heart that desired to please, the life that knows that beauty is tangible, delicious and ordinary

The looking at this family encourages me to look back, to be grateful, to look now at the ordinary and enjoy it , to look ahead with hope.
